The major event at Ansty seemed a fitting end to the crop circle season. As the amount of fields holding on to their canvas was drastically running short, due to the harvest, another crop circle making an appearance seemed unlikely.
As we pondered our days schedule early in the morning on Thursday,
that schedule did not contain a rush up to the airfield to take another photographic flight. But as the first report came in early on, it was clear after some investigation that the new report was valid and we did have another new crop circle in Wiltshire. At this time of year it's always a problem as the harvesters are out cutting the wheat, so any new circle could last for a few hours.
In fact you would only
know if it had been cut as you fly over it. So it is very much a gamble, 50/50, as to whether the circle will still be there or not. Luckily for us it was still intact when we got to the location, although the harvesters were in the adjacent fields. The day after this event, the weather turned and the wind and rain came. So for now the harvest is on hold, so the season continues.
