Catching Up On Some Of The Recent Formations.

This is a highly unusual , but strangely fascinating design. It was first reported on the 16th of June, but we didn’t get to photograph it until almost a month later in July. The weather has been rather difficult for photography to say the least! The green barley had ripened to a beautiful warm golden brown, with a slight twist of red. The field had been greatly damaged by the time we reached it, wind and rain had flattened much of the field, which was located on an exposed slope. However, rather than completely ruining the formation, we found that it had merely changed the feel of the place. Gone were the original crisp lines of the formation, replaced by a gentile and ephemeral softness; the warmth of the crop mixed with a little atmospheric cloud made for quite a spellbinding experience. Rather than being disappointed to have missed the formation at its best, we were amazed at the beautiful mottled texture of the field and how visible the design still was despite all the damage to the crop. It got us thinking about how crop circles change, how they ‘age’ or are ‘seasoned’ over time before they are finally harvested at the end of the summer.
A Trip To White Sheet Hill. At Last!

Again we were late getting to this formation due to the weather holding things up, and the lack of funds.
We timed the flight just right though as just as we arrived on location, the weather improved, and we were able to take some high res shots.
We have seen a number of crop circles appear around White Sheet Hill over the years. Back in 2010 a wonderful snowflake appeared here  – one of our favourite formations of all time. This formation was wonderfully defined, crisp and precise. One of the semi circles looks damaged in the pictures, but this some naturally occurring feature of the field, rather than a defect with the crop circle itself. It might be the site of a dew pond, or some such.

We really, really need your help and support to raise funds to fly the crop circles this season. 2016 is our toughest season yet and without urgent support we will be unable to continue. Like all those who provide information and artworks via the web, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find the funding we need to continue to generate the images and information. We realise these are difficult times and that some think that materials on the internet should be for free, or simply think that everyone else is doing the supporting. But we are asking each and everyone of you that enjoys the coverage of the crop circles we provide to dig deep and support us. Thank you.
