This is a high quality acid free fine art smooth paper of 300gsm, coated with a unique new ink jet receiving layer that gives a semi-gloss finish to the printed image. The coating is undetectable on the paper until the ink is applied, then it bursts forward with a subtle yet vibrant sheen. The surface coating gives a high depth of colour and is tough and highly resistant to scratches. These are a higher quality than our poster prints. They are not glossy prints.

All prints have a 3cm border, for framing. All prints will be signed by Steve Alexander.

Operation Blackbird. A look at an important event in crop circle history.
Image
OPERATION BLACKBIRD was a surveillance operation covering a period from the July 23 - August 12, 1990. The project was aimed at filming a crop circle forming for the first time.  This location was on high ground owned by the Ministry of Defence (M.o.D.) overlooking fields where cropcircles appeared more regularly than anywhere else on earth, at that time.  That locationwas between the villages of Bratton and Westbury near Warminster in Wiltshire, England. The project was planned by Colin Andrews, Pat Delgado, BBC Television, and NipponTelevision with the help of the M.O.D.  Andrews data enabled the location to be chosen andhe co-ordinated the operation. It has been widely speculated that the entire story about what took place over the period ofthe project has never been fully revealed. Millions watched it on TV from around the world but it was a hoax that caught the headlines. A hoax with many twists which a future articlewill address.
Crop Circles and their message.

Alton Barnes, Wiltshire, 11 July 1990.

This huge pictogram gained worldwide publicity and attracted thousands of visitors.

Every year over 200 designs appear in crops around the world. These patterns of flattened plants have been reported on every continent, in around 30 countries, but the majority have appeared in southern England.

Since the early 1990s, the original simple circles have developed into huge, intricate, geometrical patterns of stunning precision and beauty. Most appear in wheat, barley and oil-seed rape, but they have also been reported in rye, oats, flax, maize, sugar cane, peas, potatoes, sunflowers, grass, fruit orchards, rice paddies, snow, and ice.Over the years, crop formations have been attributed to a variety of mundane causes: drunks armed with string and boards, wild young farmers, disillusioned art students, out-of-work journalists, over-application of fertilizer, interference from mobile phones, squabbling birds, geometrically-gifted cows, and sex-mad hedgehogs.

Although the general public, mass media and scientific establishment tend to dismiss the entire phenomenon as the work of human pranksters, there is strong evidence that an unexplained force and guiding intelligence are at work.

Help us raise funds to record the crop circles in 2015.
HELP!

MAKE A DONATION?

It would be great if all our reqular donaters could make a donation at this moment in time.
Thank you

All our work recording the crop circles is self-financed. The yearly cost of flights over the circles alone runs into many thousands of pounds. A flight costs between £400-£800. The sale of our photographs, Year Books and other items via our online shop helps to offset some of that cost, but with increasing overheads across the board of our activities it is becoming more and more difficult to find the finance we need to record the circles.

If you feel that you would like to make a donation towards our ongoing recording of the crop circles you can make a donation through our online shop. We would gratefully receive anything that you consider appropriate, no matter how small the amount.

Our programme combines top national and international speakers, along with exciting newcomers to provide a broad collection of ideas and thinking on the subject. Please Support Us! How you Can Help...
Please help us raise money for our flights to record the crop circles in the UK...

We have always been committed to providing the best quality crop circle photography anywhere. Not only as a record of the phenomenon as it unfolds, but also as a legacy for future generations.  High quality images are essential for the future and not only will hold more information, but will also show the magnificence of the crop circles in the landscape and hopefully record the majesty and beauty of the circles for generations who were not there to witness them first hand.

The cost of obtaining our high quality images each year is huge (running in to thousands of pounds). We hire a small helicopter and use high-end digital SLRs to record the images. While it is true that there are cheaper methods for photographing the circles, there is a more damaging cost to the quality of pictures possible using there methods (drones etc.) where using expensive digital cameras would not be practical or possible.

Because of our commitment to quality and our awareness of costs, we regularly review our practices and at the moment (as of 2015) we remain convinced that our current operating methods allow us to get the best images possible.

It is through the sales of our year books, photos and other merchandise that meeting the cost of our photography possible.

We also reply on our donors who very kindly help top up our flight fund each year.

We never take any of our supporters for granted and are constantly humbled and amazed at their generosity. Every sale and every donation, no matter how humble counts, and helps us continue to record this beautiful phenomenon.
