Pedworth, Worcestershire, UK
Reported 26th May
This formation is the first circle in barley in 2014. A lovely eight-fold design made from circles and rings. We are hoping to fly this formation later in the week when (if!) the weather clears and we can get clearance to fly this area. Karen is also looking forward to getting the formation on the drawing board and we'll update you with drawings, geometry etc. soon!
You can help us to fly this formation by making a donation to our flight fund from as
little as £5.00. Flying this formation in Worcestershire will require much more travel than a trip to the usual heartlands of Wiltshire - so please help if you can.

With grateful thanks - Karen & Steve

Update
Karen has had this formation on the drawing board with some nice results...
The pencil line drawing reveals the simple, but elegant design of this six-fold wheel formation...
This idea was suggested by researcher Michael Glickman - Using a cut out of the centre circles, they provided the distance from the centre circle to the outer ring.
Golden Section calipers also revealed it was a phi relationship between the centre circle and the outer ring.
taking the time to draw and really look, often reveals that even the simplest formation has a hidden elegance and beauty!
