Biography

Dr. Jonathan Paul De Vierville, former Professor of The Humanities, History and Interdisciplinary Studies at The Alamo Colleges: St. Philip's College, is an Analytical Psychotherapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Professional Counsellor. 

 

He has taught analytical and archetypal psychology and Jungian psychotherapy at the graduate and post-graduate level.  He owns and directs The Alamo Plaza Spa at the historic Menger Hotel in San Antonio, Texas.  

 

He often speaks at World Congresses on Health Resort and Spa Therapies, The Global Spa and Wellness Summit and The International Association for the Study of Dreams. 

 

Each year he offers a special seminar: SPA-WATERS, DREAMS & CULTURES where participants search and experience the deeper personal, social-cultural and archetypal mysteries and significance of their Dreams and Dreaming. 

 

In addition to this, for the past ten years he has been an avid crop circle observer, researcher and experiencer and brings his considerable expertise as a speaker and guide for our Night-Watch with co-organizer Cameron Broughton.

Ten Years After: A Continuing Conscious Conversation with an Unconscious Phenomenon

 

The Crop Circle Phenomena (or Gyro Glyphic Mysteries) are observed and experienced as significant forms of images using signs and symbols with numbers, ratios, scripted language and other notable, but inexplainable characteristics and origins.  

 

These world-wide Field Forms, Circles, and Glyphs seem to have significance, meaning and purpose for the cultures of humanity on planet earth. 

 

Since earliest times our ancestors have recorded their experiences and provided evidence of the invisible, through their visions and dreams which served as thresholds and pathways into an unknown and unconscious world.  

 

This numinous and sacred presence of Nature and the Divine in our altering-states-of-consciousness can enhance our conscious reflection as well as facilitate deep sleep and big dreams that are continually emerging from the Greater Supra- Un- and/or Non- Conscious.  

 

In an open, complex and confusing way, the Field Forms, Circles and Glyphs appear to be doing something similar for the human species  -- like a series of nightly symbols, visions and dreams in the fields.

 

This presentation briefly introduces participants to a series of images, symbols, sounds and numbers that have manifested in the Field Forms, Circles and Glyphs of the past 10 years.

 

Through intention and imagination, persons are enabled to sense and share their conscious creative and re-creative, generative and regenerative processes and gain wisdom. 

 

When people share their stories and dreams they often encounter revelations and gain insight relevant to themselves, but also to their society and culture.  

 

Like the ancients we today gain insight into ourselves and a better understanding of others by contemplating this continuing conundrum of contemporary Field Forms, Circles and Glyphs.
