News...

1. New Circle at The Sanctuary, Wilts. Reported 28th May 2011. Barley.

This crop circle was first reported on the 28th of May, but by the morning of the 30th it had grown (or been added to). The photo shows the formation after its additions. This alignment of circles has been linked to an astronomical alignment of planets and stars. Click HERE for details.

Please note that the farmer has asked for NO VISITORS to his field - otherwise he will cut the circle out.  We ask that everyone respect the farmers wishes.

1b. New Circle at Hackpen Hill, Wilts. Reported 30th May 2011. Barley.

The formation at Hackpen Hill was considered by some to be unfinished, and at first glance it could easily appear that way. It could be that the formation shows three-stages, or steps, or three aspects of one integral design.

When sketching this formation it was clear
that each of the three circles contained
different patterns and were not unfinished
versions of one repeating pattern.

1c. New Circle at Wilton Windmill, Wilts. Reported 1st June 2011. Wheat.

This strange crop circle has been named the serpent or the sperm. It appeared close to Wilton Windmill and appears to have some sort of code down its spine.

2b. Flight Fund Appeal Update

We still need urgent help to continue our flying this summer. The weakened financial climate and the changes to our flying operation mean we are finding it more difficult than ever to fund our flights. We realise that the financial climate is having an effect on a lot of you too, but if anyone can help by making a donation no matter how small to our flight fund, or by making a purchase from our online store it would help us enormously.

We have a new special offer on our website for our newsletter subscribers only - details below! For one week only we are offering a massive 20% off any and all purchases on our online shop - if you can please use it, we very much need your support!

Fund raising in this way helps us to keep the Temporary Temples website free to everyone, including our photo archive, these newsletters and now our new blog. It allows us to share the crop circles with everyone rather than having to charge a subscription.

We deeply appreciate all your donations and purchases - without you we just couldn't continue...

About Us:

Steve Alexander has been photographing the crop circles for twenty years. During that time he and Karen have provided a important service to the crop circle world by supplying professional quality photographic imagery of the circles to researchers, the media and the general public.

Since 1999 they have produced an annual Year Book showcasing the very best formations of each year along with a written commentary researched by Karen Alexander. The Crop Circle Year Book books are beautifully produced and they contain some of the best crop circle photography you will find anywhere. They are self-published, in small numbers and are not widely available, many consider them to be the most important crop circle documents available.

To keep up with the latest circles as they happen you can subscribe to our free newsletter. We will send you information and pictures of the latest UK circles as soon as they happen directly to your inbox along with special offers from our online shop. Give the ugly kid a chance!

Karen looks at the first formation of the season at Chepstow, in the first of a series of catch-up blogs looking at the crop circles of the 2011 season so far...

"While I can see the rationale for consigning an unattractive and inaccurate formation to the proverbial 'crop circle trash-can,' I am left wondering why with so much talked about the symbolism of the formations, the symbolism of this formation was barely addressed? Could it be that in our haste and confidence in our expertise that some of us have become a little too arrogant? Could it be that we have got into the questionable habit of only considering the symbolism of attractive formations? Perhaps this is a sad reflection of our society, particularly in the west, where we slavishly extol the beautiful, while mocking the awkward. Perhaps we judge every book by its cover because we have either forgotten how to read, or were illiterate in the first place!"
